While I love a chic, patterned dress, the problem (for me anyway) is that I don’t want to wear an eyelet one and look like a tea-time tablecloth. Usually, (and as I’ve probably mentioned a couple times now) a lot of dresses are wayyy too short on me. However, to top it all off with a lace and eyelet pattern, these dresses in particular can make me look like I’m a walking cupcake. Since I’ve been trying to avoid that conundrum for pretty much my entire life, I’ve dished out some tips for those of you who know this struggle all too well. From the dress length to how you style your eyelet ensemble, keep reading below to find out what I’ve learned!
Kurt Cobain’s signature sunglasses are officially making a huge comeback. While grunge-style eyewear is nothing new for us 90’s kids, these retro shades are a post-millenium sensation. The Nirvana star sure knows how to start a trend. As for me, these oval-shaped frames are definitely some of my faves so far. Some of you know I collect sunglasses, so these Kurt Cobain-inspired ones were no exception.
THE KURT COBAIN SUNGLASSES
Kurt Cobain was spotted in some of his most famous photos (featuring Courtney Love, of course) sporting his Saint Laurent New Wave sunglasses. I paired my Kurt Cobain shades with myASOS graphic tee, Zara high-waisted jeans and my favorite pair of bouncy sole Dr. Martens. However, you can style yours with a more feminine outfit, like the attire of a cool and glamorous 90’s Drew Barrymore or Spice Girl. No matter what you’re feeling, the nouvelle vague of sunglasses swag is here to stay. And while these designer sunglasses have had a resurgence, they’re now produced by many different retailers for lower prices! I’ll link up some of those more affordable finds below! Hope this was helpful and happy Tuesday!
Ferociously fierce and trendy, our fave feline-inspired sunglasses are officially back in style. (Tbh did they ever go out of style?) I’ve always been a huge fan of the cat eye sunglasses.
Even though I wouldn’t classify my style as romantic and feminine, I couldn’t resist sporting this DVF little black dress (LBD). As someone who has difficulty finding dresses, this billowing high/low skirt at the bottom proves to be extremely helpful. The dress is about 36 1/2″ long in the front and 41″ in the back (as taken from a size 8 measurement). So, tall girls, I’ve added some dresses in this post that are at least 35″ long, and I hope that will be helpful!
Need a last minute 4th of July outfit? Fear not! These maxi dresses are here to save the day. Some of these maxi dresses come in a variety of colors (numbers 1 & 5) and range from $20-$30! The other choices on this list are a bit pricier, but I wanted to make sure I gave you the full range of options to choose from (if you feel like splurging).
Also, these dresses can be a great transitional pieces, especially for going from dartying (day partying) to relaxing evening BBQs. Honestly, the maxi dress should just be called “the most convenient fashionable attire ever”. For real. I love wearing mine because I can literally throw my swimsuit on underneath and then have my outfit ready to go for the rest of the day. If you want to hear more about my obsession with these dresses, feel free to reference my other article here, and check out the options below!
That’s all I have for now (doing some 4th of July planning!), so stay tuned for all the new posts coming up next week! Have a fabulous weekend!
